4 Simple Steps

If you’re not sure how to get started with your Design Project, just follow these 4 Simple Steps and you’ll see just how easy it really is!

Every project is unique, which is why I like to have a good chat with my clients, in order to get a strong feel for what they need. I’ll then supply you with a detailed quote, based on what we discuss during your consultation.

2 – Confirm, Pay & Plan:

Payment, e-book and Design Plan:
Assuming you’re happy with the quote, simply reply via email with your approval and I’ll send you a digital invoice. Once you’ve made your payment, you’ll receive a link to download my free e-book.
Before starting the Design process, decide which design route to take:
Option 1: The ‘Hands-off’ approach:
– Read my free e-book: ‘Logo & Branding Design: 14 Steps to Success’, for tips and advice about ensuring your logo and branding look fantastic and perfectly suited to your needs
– We’ll have a comprehensive briefing session to discuss every aspect of your project in depth
– I’ll help you to decide on the various factors that will define the look and feel of your logo and branding, providing you with a detailed Design Plan
– You can then leave everything to me, confident in the knowledge that I’ll deliver exactly what we’ve discussed, as outlined in the Design Plan
Option 2: The ‘Hands-on’ approach:
– Follow the steps as they are laid out in my eBook, completing each exercise as you go, all the way through to completion
– You’ll conduct a series of brainstorming sessions with your team, to generate your own original ideas that will best suit your needs
– Then simply supply me with your Design Plan, using the Action Sheets provided in my eBook, outlining the results of all your hard work
– Armed with all your supplied details and research, I’ll create your designs to your exacting specifications

3 – Design & Proofing Process:

Logo Design:
– Work will now begin on your Logo Design, based on what we’ve talked about and any choices you’ve made relating to colour, fonts, form, styling, etc.
– I will provide sub-proofs at each stage of the design process (where appropriate) in order to ensure your satisfaction as work continues, such as Font options, Colour combinations, etc
– Work will continue until the first full proof of your Logo Design is ready
– As standard, I provide up to 3 full proofs for each job within a project
– Once you have received the first full proof, and have thoroughly checked and considered the design, you may request changes to be made
– The second proof will reflect those changes and, if necessary, you can submit further changes
– A third proof will then be provided for you to check and approve before moving on to the next job in your project
Branding Design:
– When your Logo Design is complete, we’ll move forward with your Branding Design
– As a precaution the first Asset comes with unlimited proofs in order to ensure that you’re 100% satisfied before getting on with the rest
– Following the standard 3-part proofing process as outlined above, we’ll proceed with your remaining 4 Assets, one at a time, moving through proofs 1, 2 and 3, making any changes, as required
– Upon receipt of your approval of the last Asset, we’ll continue on to designing your Style Guide
Style Guide Design:
– Once all 5 Assets are complete, we can proceed with your Style Guide Design in the same way, with a series of 3 proofs, making any changes as we go

4 – Promote your Business with Confidence:

Final Payment:
Only when you are 100% satisfied with the final design will each job within the project be deemed complete.
If any aspects of the project go significantly beyond the bounds of the quote and the above proofing process, such as changes requested after the 3rd proof, there may be additional costs, at my discretion. Any remaining sum will need to be settled when you receive the final invoice.
Design & Artwork Files Supplied:
Upon receipt of your Final Payment (if required), you will be sent your flattened design and artwork files, including the various versions of your logo, all 5 of your completed Assets and your final Style Guide document, accompanied by its supporting materials, each supplied in the appropriate file formats, such as JPGs, PNGs, PDFs, etc.
Quotes for layered PSDs, AIs, editable InDesign document templates, etc., as well as any other files produced during the design process, can be provided upon request.
Promote and Create:
Now you have all you need to start promoting your business to your target audience – and to the world. You can use any and all of your 5 Assets immediately, if you wish. You can also provide a 3rd-party designer or artworker with all they need to apply your logo and brand styling to new marketing assets, packaging and more.
Alternatively, you may want to commission me to produce further Assets on your behalf, in which case I’ll be more than happy to help. I offer quotes for individual items on an ad hoc basis, or alternatively, you may be interested in my Monthly Design Plan.
